Considered a highlight of conventions since 1947, the Original Tunes Competition (or "OTC") allows composers to submit and perform a new work for judging. All compositions in any genre are welcome, although the emphasis is on music in the style and structure of traditional jazz.
- Composed in the last 2 years;
- Not previously been performed, recorded, or entered to competition, in any form previously;
- Can be performed for the competition entirely within the allotted 5 minutes;
- Meets all other criteria as outlined in the information pack
